First Grade Teacher (2026–27)
At Casa de las Estrellas, we understand the first grade year as a threshold moment in a child’s life—a time when learning begins to take shape through imagination, movement, and meaningful human connection.
We are seeking a teacher who can meet this moment with both pedagogical understanding and artistic sensitivity. The first grade teacher at Casa de las Estrellas is not only an instructor, but a guide—one who can bring the world to the child through story, rhythm, and beauty.
Our approach is rooted in Waldorf education, where academic content is woven together with the arts, nature, and the development of the whole human being. The teacher we seek will feel at home working in this way: teaching literacy through image and story, mathematics through movement and form, and cultivating a classroom environment that is both structured and alive.
We are looking for a teacher who brings:
Waldorf training (completed or in progress), or a genuine interest supported by further study
A degree in Primary Education or a related field
At least 3 years of experience working with young children
Experience integrating arts and creativity into the learning process
Fluency in Spanish and basic proficiency in English
This role calls for someone who can:
Hold a class with warmth and quiet authority
Build meaningful relationships with children and their families
Bring consistency and rhythm to the daily and seasonal life of the classroom
Work collaboratively within a faculty committed to ongoing study and growth
We are a growing, evolving school in Nosara, Costa Rica, rooted in community and guided by a shared commitment to the healthy development of each child. Living and working here invites both adaptability and a deep appreciation for place.
We welcome teachers who are inspired to contribute to a school culture that values creativity, responsibility, collaboration, and care.
If this work speaks to you, we invite you to learn more and reach out.
