🌊 Por qué es importante el Surf-A-Thon
Este año, el Surf-A-Thon continúa creciendo como una parte significativa de nuestros esfuerzos de recaudación de fondos. Los fondos recaudados apoyarán directamente las becas tanto para estudiantes actuales como para futuras familias del ciclo escolar 2026–27 que requieren apoyo financiero.
En su esencia, este evento se trata de:
Apoyar a cada estudiante
Las becas hacen posible que todos los niños participen plenamente en la vida escolar, desde el aula hasta las experiencias más amplias que acompañan su desarrollo.
Invertir en el futuro
Estamos apoyando el crecimiento de jóvenes conscientes y capaces que contribuirán de manera significativa al mundo que los rodea.
Construir una cultura de generosidad
Al entrar en nuestro segundo año, estamos sentando las bases de una tradición duradera basada en la generosidad, la conexión y la responsabilidad compartida.
Celebrar la comunidad
Más que una recaudación de fondos, el Surf-A-Thon es un reflejo del espíritu de nuestra escuela, reuniéndonos de una manera alegre y con propósito.
☀️ Cómo participan los estudiantes - ¡Pueden comenzar de inmediato!
Esta es una oportunidad para que estudiantes de todas las edades den un paso hacia la iniciativa, la creatividad y la conexión.
Invitamos a los estudiantes a acercarse a amigos, familiares, vecinos y miembros de la comunidad de maneras que se sientan naturales y auténticas. Esto puede verse así:
Compartir sobre el evento en conversación
Enviar un mensaje de audio o un correo electrónico
Crear un dibujo o un pequeño cartel
Grabar un video corto
O cualquier otra forma creativa que les inspire
No hay una única manera “correcta” de participar. Lo más importante es la experiencia de acercarse a otros y ser parte de algo más grande que uno mismo.
Nuestra meta este año es 100% DE PARTICIPACIÓN ESTUDIANTIL. Más allá de cualquier monto recaudado, poder decir que, como comunidad escolar, logramos esta meta sería realmente increíble.

🎟️ Nuevo este año: Rifa estudiantil
Para celebrar la participación, estamos introduciendo un sistema de rifa para los estudiantes.
Cada vez que un estudiante traiga o reciba una donación asociada a su nombre, sin importar el monto, recibirá un boleto para participar en un sorteo final con distintos premios.
Esto busca:
Fomentar la participación
Celebrar el esfuerzo por encima del resultado
Añadir un sentido de alegría y entusiasmo al proceso

📣 Compartiendo la invitación
Los estudiantes pueden compartir su participación de manera sencilla, por ejemplo:
“Estoy participando en el Surf-A-Thon de Casa de las Estrellas para recaudar fondos para becas. Cada aporte hace la diferencia. ¿Te gustaría apoyarme en esta causa? ¡Muchas gracias!”
Las familias también están invitadas a ayudar a difundir el mensaje dentro de sus comunidades. Cada conexión cuenta.
🌊 Día del evento – Qué esperar
El 9 de mayo, entre las 8:00 a.m. y las 12:00 p.m., nos reuniremos en la playa para un evento comunitario alegre y bien organizado. Más detalles se compartirán a medida que se acerque la fecha.
Un agradecimiento muy especial al equipo organizador de este año - María Etcheverry, Quiahuatl Gomez Alvarado y Josu Oyarzabal Artagaveytia - cuyo cuidado, tiempo y energía están dando forma a esta experiencia para toda nuestra comunidad.
El día incluirá:
Buena música y un ambiente festivo
Burbujas gigantes
Un equipo organizado de seguridad en el océano
“Heats” o turnos estructurados para los estudiantes, asegurando un flujo seguro y acompañado en el agua
Este evento está diseñado para ser una experiencia segura, acogedora e inclusiva para todas las edades.
👕 Camisetas para todos los participantes
Todos los participantes recibirán una camiseta del Surf-A-Thon de Casa de las Estrellas.
Si ya se registraron, haremos todo lo posible por entregar la talla solicitada.

☀️ How Students Participate - They can begin right away!
This is an opportunity for students of all ages to step into initiative, creativity, and connection.
We invite students to reach out to friends, family, neighbors, and community members in ways that feel natural and authentic. This might look like:
Sharing about the event in conversation
Sending an audio message or an email
Creating a drawing or small poster
Recording a short video
Or any other creative way they feel inspired
There is no single “right way” to participate. What matters most is the experience of reaching out and being part of something larger than oneself.
Our goal this year is 100% STUDENT PARTICIPATION. More than any specific amount raised, being able to say that, as a school community, we reached this goal would be truly incredible.

To celebrate participation, we are introducing a raffle system for students.
Each time a student brings in or receives a donation connected to them, no matter the amount, they will receive a raffle ticket to enter into a final prize drawing.
This is intended to:
Encourage participation
Celebrate effort over outcome
Bring an added sense of excitement and joy

🌊 Day of the Event – What to Expect
On May 9th, between 8:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m., we will gather together on the beach for a joyful and well-organized community event. More details will be shared as we get closer to the day.
A heartfelt thank you to this year’s Surf-A-Thon planning team - María Etcheverry, Quiahuatl Gomez Alvarado, and Josu Oyarzabal Artagaveytia - whose care, time, and energy are helping shape this experience for our entire community.
The day will include:
Good tunes and a festive atmosphere
Giant bubbles
An organized ocean safety team
Structured student “heats” to ensure a smooth and supportive flow in the water
This is designed to be a safe, welcoming, and inclusive experience for all ages.

All participants will receive a Casa de las Estrellas Surf-A-Thon t-shirt.
